M. Herrmann, und W. Sobek. From Spatial Structures to Space Structures, IASS-APCS 2012, May 21-24, 2012, Seoul, Korea, (2012)
Zusammenfassung
The functionally graded concrete technology was invented at the Institut für Leichtbau Entwerfen und Konstruieren (ILEK; Institute of Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design) at the University of Stuttgart. At this institute, the new technology is currently being investigated and developed further in several research projects. It enables the continuous adjustment of concrete properties, such as porosity, density, thermal conductivity and strength, within the element in accordance with the specifications and load profiles determined for the element. Functionally graded concrete is thus the first solution ever that opens up the opportunity of completely „ optimization of the component interior“. As a result, weight, resource consumption, waste generation, emissions and energy consumption during the manufacture of concrete elements can be reduced far beyond previously achieved levels.
