Zusammenfassung

Most sensors for welding automation work very well for seam tracking, on the other hand, thereis the control of the welding process. For this, optical sensors are the best choice becausethey are able to provide the complete groove geometry. Naturally arc welding and opticalsensors combined causes distortions in the sensor signal. Different methods for reducing thesekinds of distortions will be presented. Optical laser-sensors have also problems withreflective metallic surfaces that cause secondary reflections. Beginning with mechanicalshielding, different mechanical constructions, shielding device and parameters areinvestigated. Optical shielding was analyzed as well as the use of different lasers and thevariation of optical band-pass filters. Additionally to band-pass filters, the use of opticalpolarizer was investigated in reduction of secondary reflections. The reflections can not bereduced by optical or mechanical shielding, therefore, new image processing algorithms have tobe investigated. For further development in digital filter algorithm mathematical models ofreflections were applied to real reflection distorted frames.
