Abstract

(Ph3P)2Cu(h4,m-bptz)Cu(PPh3)2BF4 (I) (bptz = 3,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine radical anion) was prepd. by the reaction of Cu, Cu(BF4)2, bptz and PPh3 in dried CH2Cl2. I is monoclinic, space group P21/c, Z = 2, R = 0.062, Rw = 0.165. The planar bis-bidentate bptz bridges 2 Cu centers at a distance of 6.743\AA. The ESR data indicate that almost complete localization of the spin at the center of the tetrazine ring. on SciFinder(R)
