This contribution presents an approach to combine a long-term energy storage and direct air capture. Therefore, a thermochemical storage based on quicklime and water is extended to actively capture diluted CO2 by using the energetically discharged slaked lime as CO2 sorbent. First results based on the literature show, that with 480 kWh provided heat, 1 t CO2 could be captured from the atmosphere.
