Abstract

(NEt4)6(NC)5FeLFe(CN)5 (1; L = 1,2,4,5-tetrazine) and (NEt4)5(NC)5FeLFe(CN)5 (2) were prepd. The mixed valent 2 was exceedingly stable as indicated by the solvent dependent comproportionation consts. of 1. ESR, IR and UV-visible spectra are reported for 2. The use of the tetrazine bridge increases the stability remarkably compared to the pyrazine bridged analog. on SciFinder(R)
