Abstract

Oxidn. of cobalt(I) carbonyl(hydride) [(dippf)CoH(CO)2] [1-H, dippf = 1,1'-bis(diisopropylphosphino)ferrocene] gives 17-VE cation [(dippf)CoH(CO)2]+ (1-H+), which eliminates dihydrogen with formation of 16-VE cationic complex [(dippf)Co(CO)2]+ (1+). Crystal structures of 1-H and [1+][PF6] are reported. The complex [1+][PF6] can be also prepd. by chem. oxidn. of 1-H with ferrocenium hexafluorophosphate. The electrooxidn. process was followed with cyclic voltammetry and IR spectroelectrochem., which shows the intermediate formation of 1-H+. [on SciFinder(R)]
