Abstract
Eine quantitative Aussage zur Lebensdauer und Zuverlässigkeit von druckbelastbaren Wellendichtungen ist wegen der komplexen Wechselwirkungen zwischen Dichtring, Welle und abzudichtendem Fluid nur mit statistischen Mitteln möglich. Auf einem Prüfstand wurden Lebensdaueruntersuchungen an PTFE-Manschetten und Radial-Wellendichtringen (RWDR) durchgeführt. Sowohl beim RWDR als auch bei der PTFE-Manschette erreichten nicht alle untersuchten Dichtungen das Lebensdauerende, das mit einer konstant hohen Leckagerate definiert war. Die beiden Dichtungstypen weisen verschiedene Ausfallursachen und somit ein unterschiedliches Ausfallverhalten auf. Dies wird durch die statistische Auswertung mit der dreiparametrigen Weibull-Verteilung deutlich.
Because of the complex interactions between seal ring, shaft and fluid that has to be sealed a quantitative statement about the lifetime and reliability of shaft seals for pressure is only possible by means of statistic. Life tests for lip seals and rotary shaft seals were performed on a durability test bench. Some of the tested rotary shaft seals as weil as the lip seals have not achieved the end of their lifetime that was defined as a leakage rate with a constant level. The two seals show different failure causes and thus a different failure behavior. This is confirmed by the statistical analysis with the three-parametric Weibull-distribution.
