Testing is often considered boring. Wrong! Testing matters for many reasons. Not only is it the area where most of the money goes across the product life cycle but new challanges, such as adaptive software, agile deployment, and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven systems, demand bnovel test technologies. Michael Weyrich, Divith Bajaj, and I evaluate current technologies for software testing, providing an overview of methods and tools, including systematic risk assesment for each test activity. A case study for testing AI systems provides insight into novel intelligent testing stratigies.
