This paper presents a novel algorithm to measure current without a flux concentrating ferromagnetic core enclosing the current carrying conductor. First the algorithm is presented; the algorithm requires three magnetic field sensors around the circular conductor. The information about the magnetic field is used to estimate the position of the conductor and to calculate the current to be measured. Second measurements are presented to verify the concept.
