Abstract

An electrochem. study showed that the 1,4-dihydropyrazine system (I; R = H) is sufficiently p electron rich to accommodate the p accepting N-substituents in I R = Ac, P(S)Me2, without losing its propensity to undergo one electron oxidn. to give the corresponding persistent radical cations. These radicals were characterized by ESR spectroscopy. on SciFinder(R)
