Abstract
In order to evaluate the energy efficiency of electrical drive systems for automation, simulations are made. For this purpose energy-accurate models are needed, which include all significant losses. The development and verification of an optimized simulation model for a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a nominal power of 1 kW is presented in this paper, using measurements in different operating points. It is not necessary to know the design data of the motor or finite-element-models for this. Influences are analyzed and the model is verified using measurements and statistical methods. With the help of the presented method, simulation models can be developed to compare the energy efficiency of different motors application dependent and therefore save energy.
