Phase field modelling for compressible droplet impingement

Abstract

We consider the impingement of a droplet onto a wall with high im-pact speed. For this purpose an isothermal Navier–Stokes–Allen–Cahn model[5] is used. Properties of the model are discussed. In order to solve the systemnumerically we introduce an energy consistent discontinuous Galerkin schemeand show a numerical example of droplet impact.
