Abstract

LW(CO)52 (L = 2,1,3-benzochalcogenadiazole, chalcogen = O, S, Se) were prepd. by mixing W(CO)5(THF) and L in THF, removing the solvent, immediately redissolving the residue in toluene, and subsequently adding hexane. The complexes were characterized by chem. anal., cyclic voltammetry, and spectral (IR, 1H NMR, electronic) methods. L coordinates via the 2 N atoms to different W atoms. The ease of redn. of LW(CO)52 varies as Se \textgreater S \textgreater O. on SciFinder(R)
