Abstract

In series production of sheet metal components, fluctuating sheet metal properties can lead to time-consuming start-up phases and increased scrap rates. One approach for overcoming these challenges is to change the blank position before the forming process. Against this background, this paper investigates the quality influence of the blank position on the deep-drawing result. Experimental and numerical investigations were carried out to evaluate the influence of the blank position on the forming result.
