Entsprechend ihrer Bedeutung wurde an den dafür eingesetzten Dichtsystemen in den letzten 40 Jahren mehr oder minder energisch entwickelt. Am Beispiel der dynamischen Abdichtung von Wellen wird die Entwicklung und Funktion von Dichtsystemen dargestellt und auf Potentiale, Probleme und Trends hingewiesen. In units for drives and transmissions like motors, gears, couplings, clutches etc., but also in others fields like machine tools, pumps or compressors the sealing of shafts always has been a frequent and important task. In accordance with their importance in the past 40 years it was taken more or less drastic action in the development of the sealing systems used there. By the example of the dynamic sealing of shafts the development and function of sealing systems are shown and the potentials, problems and trends are pointed out.
