Abstract
This paper presents a modular design of the drive train of a hybrid midsize multifunctional vehicle. The model is mainly based on the loss calculation of the electrical components of the drive train, which is the focus of this paper. Moreover, the torque distribution over the wheels, the power flow through the electrical and electromechanical components, as well as the battery capacity, which are necessary for the design of the drive train, is also discussed. Finally, the different strategies, which are used for the energy management within the drive train and for the control of the converters, are introduced.
