Abstract

In this thesis a mathematical model for a Five-Phase permanent magnet synchronous machine is built. For the modeling, it will be analyzed whether the injection of the harmonics of stator currents have a positive effect on the building of the magnetic Field. With the Park transformation a d-q model is also built, so that this motor can also be controlled with the rotor field oriented control algorithm. Based on the mathematical model, a Simulink model is built. Then a current and speed controller is set up in the Simulink, which is modified by the controller of the three phase PMSM. For the operating procedure, it is analyzed which influence the 3rd harmonic of the phase currents has on the stator voltages and the maximum torque. The the stator voltages and the maximum torque are calculated with the injection of the third harmonic of phase currents in order to determine the efficiency optimized operating points with different load torques. Meanwhile the amplitude of the resultant stator currents is taken into account, so that the magnetic saturation in the iron core is not becoming worse.
