Abstract
Micro lens arrays (MLAs) are widely used for optical applications to enhance their optical performance. Examples for applications are hyper spectral imaging systems, display devices and optical data stor-age. MLAs can be produced using various methods such as laser ablation, LIGA process or ultra-precision machining. Suitable replication methods for MLAs are hot embossing, injection molding and injection compression molding. In this work, the process chain of ultra-precision milling (UP-milling), stamper integration and injection compression molding is evaluated regarding defects and form factors of tooling components and replicated polymer parts.
