These cyber physical systems have sensors and actors and can makedecisions based on their own intelligence as well as partially adapt tochanging conditions. For a versatile and networked production cyber physicalsystems are of limited value. Precisely where the available sensors andactuators have to be combined flexibly due to ever new conditions, thesesystems find their limits because of their insularity. Limited computinghardware resources and lacking interfaces confine the possibilities of cyberphysical systems in production environment. This paper explains how cyberphysical systems need to be developed further in order to meet therequirements of a versatile and networked production plant.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="[xtl:6]" swrc:key="__markedentry"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="A.
