Recently, symplectic methods like the complex singular value decomposition (cSVD) or the SVD-like decomposition have been developed for preserving Hamiltonian structure during MOR. In this contribution, we show how symplectic structure preserving basis generation can be made more efficient with randomized matrix factorizations. We present a randomized complex SVD (rcSVD) algorithm and a randomized SVD-like decomposition (rSVD-like). We demonstrate the efficiency of the approaches with numerical experiments on high dimensional For instance, a physiotherapist can display muscles and bones in real-time as a visual overlay on the patient's body. The major challenge of such pervasive simulations is the complexity of the simulation, which typically exceeds the resources of the mobile device by far. Offloading computationally intensive simulations to a remote server is a promising method to enable real-time simulations on resource-constrained mobile devices without compromising the quality of the simulation results. However, the results of offloaded computations may arrive with an inevitable communication delay, which is critical for real-time simulations and also induces communication overhead. In this work, we tackle these challenges by proposing a novel approach for pervasive simulations on mobile devices. We combine a low-quality local Neural Network (NN) model on the mobile device with a high-quality NN model on a remote server, particularly taking care to integrate delayed updates from the server with the local simulation results. This distributed approach has several advantages over purely local or remote execution models: We benefit from high-quality remote results, while being robust to dynamic delays, server and network failures, and we reduce the communication overhead.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Kässinger","given":"Johannes"},{"family":"Rosin","given":"David"},{"family":"Dürr","given":"Frank"},{"family":"Mehler","given":"Benedikt"},{"family":"Hubatscheck","given":"Thomas"},{"family":"Rothermel","given":"Kurt"}],"citation-label":"kassinger2023persival","collection-editor":[],"collection-title":"","container-author":[],"container-title":"2023 robustness and generalization are both crucial properties of reliable machine learning models. In this paper, we study these properties in the context of quantum machine learning based on Lipschitz bounds. We derive parameter-dependent Lipschitz bounds for quantum models with trainable encoding, showing that the norm of the data encoding has a crucial impact on the robustness against data perturbations. Further, we derive a bound on the generalization error which explicitly involves the parameters of the data encoding. Our theoretical findings give rise to a practical strategy for training robust and generalizable quantum models by regularizing the Lipschitz bound in the cost. Further, we show that, for fixed and non-trainable encodings, as those frequently employed in quantum machine learning, the Lipschitz bound cannot be influenced by tuning the parameters. Thus, trainable encodings are crucial for systematically adapting robustness and generalization during training. The practical implications of our theoretical findings are illustrated with numerical results.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Berberich","given":"Julian"},{"family":"Fink","given":"Daniel"},{"family":"Pranjić","given":"Daniel"},{"family":"Tutschku","given":"Christian"},{"family":"Holm","given":"Christian"}],"citation-label":"berberich23","collection-editor":[],"collection-title":"","container-author":[],"container-title":"","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2024"]],"literal":"2024"},"event-place":"","id":"2301c2282e12620e23a2de21f93486eetestusersimtech","interhash":"9bc6310a77b52644e0e8c92f3e33a849","intrahash":"2301c2282e12620e23a2de21f93486ee","issue":"","issued":{"date-parts":[["2024"]],"literal":"2024"},"keyword":"EXC2075 PN8 misc","misc":{"eprint":"2311.11871","archiveprefix":"arXiv","primaryclass":"quant-ph","doi":"10.48550/arXiv.2311.11871"},"note":"keine Publikation","number":"","page":"","page-first":"","publisher":"","publisher-place":"","status":"","title":"Training robust and generalizable quantum models","type":"article","username":"testusersimtech","version":"","volume":""},"09ec802452adce62f20d4c7359a01fbatestusersimtech":{"DOI":"","ISBN":"","ISSN":"","URL":"","abstract":"","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Buntic","given":"Ivan"}],"citation-label":"buntic2021a","collection-editor":[{"family":"Coltman","given":"Edward"},{"family":"Lipp","given":"Melanie"},{"family":"Helmig","given":"Rainer"}],"collection-title":"","container-author":[{"family":"Coltman","given":"Edward"},{"family":"Lipp","given":"Melanie"},{"family":"Helmig","given":"Rainer"}],"container-title":"","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[{"family":"Coltman","given":"Edward"},{"family":"Lipp","given":"Melanie"},{"family":"Helmig","given":"Rainer"}],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2021","05"]],"literal":"2021"},"event-place":"","genre":"Master thesis","id":"09ec802452adce62f20d4c7359a01fbatestusersimtech","interhash":"123ac253747d34c8dd2acbd1c50325ec","intrahash":"09ec802452adce62f20d4c7359a01fba","issue":"","issued":{"date-parts":[["2021","05"]],"literal":"2021"},"keyword":"misc","note":"Projekttag fehlt","number":"","page":"","page-first":"","publisher":"Universität Stuttgart","publisher-place":"","status":"","title":"Modelling Turbulence in Coupled Environments: The K-Omega Shear Stress Transport Model","type":"thesis","username":"testusersimtech","version":"","volume":""},"bb90b8efa308a2e4d17fd4afe6c87dc3testusersimtech":{"DOI":"","ISBN":"","ISSN":"","URL":"","abstract":"","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Xu","given":"Teng"},{"family":"Xiao","given":"Sinan"},{"family":"Reuschen","given":"Sebastian"},{"family":"Wildt","given":"Nils"},{"family":"Franssen","given":"Harrie-Jan Hendricks"},{"family":"Nowak","given":"Wolfgang"}],"citation-label":"xu2024towards","collection-editor":[],"collection-title":"","container-author":[],"container-title":"Hydrology and Earth System Sciences","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2024 (submitted)"]],"literal":"2024 (submitted)"},"event-place":"","id":"bb90b8efa308a2e4d17fd4afe6c87dc3testusersimtech","interhash":"761ff9054529b7eb6f53550c26f605e4","intrahash":"bb90b8efa308a2e4d17fd4afe6c87dc3","issue":"","issued":{"date-parts":[["2024 (submitted)"]],"literal":"2024 (submitted)"},"keyword":"EXC2075 PN5 misc","note":"keine Publikation","number":"","page":"","page-first":"","publisher":"","publisher-place":"","status":"","title":"Towards a community-wide effort for benchmarking in subsurface hydrological inversion: benchmarking cases, high-fidelity reference solutions, procedure and a first comparison","type":"article-journal","username":"testusersimtech","version":"","volume":""},"27651c421e8fab048e31cb45c51f55b6testusersimtech":{"DOI":"","ISBN":"","ISSN":"","URL":"","abstract":"","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Kostelecky","given":"A.
