The proposed PCCU schemes are constructed via the first ever application of flux globalization strategies for this model family, which is made possible by the analytical form of the steady states. The scheme is adapted to the nonconservative form via a path-conservative finite-volume method and well-balanced (WB) in the sense that it is capable of exactly preserving physically relevant steady states, including moving-water. We validate the proposed scheme on several benchmarks, including smooth solutions, small perturbation of steady states, and dam-break scenarios. These results demonstrate that our flux globalization based WB PCCU schemes provide a reliable framework for computing solutions of shallow water moment models with nonlinear and nonconservative features.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Cao","given":"Yangyang"},{"family":"Huang","given":"Qian"},{"family":"Koellermeier","given":"Julian"},{"family":"Kurganov","given":"Alexander"},{"family":"Liu","given":"Yongle"}],"citation-label":"CAO2026107036","collection-editor":[],"collection-title":"","container-author":[],"container-title":"Computers & Fluids","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2026"]],"literal":"2026"},"event-place":"","id":"4bd64e47633e44332d2d82db5579cc60sylviazur","interhash":"1ca01781f2391286ee8bad3684d3cadf","intrahash":"4bd64e47633e44332d2d82db5579cc60","issue":"","issued":{"date-parts":[["2026"]],"literal":"2026"},"keyword":"am ians","misc":{"issn":"0045-7930","doi":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.compfluid.2026.107036"},"note":"","number":"","page":"107036","page-first":"107036","publisher":"","publisher-place":"","status":"","title":"Flux globalization based well-balanced path-conservative central-upwind schemes for shallow water linearized moment equations","type":"article-journal","username":"sylviazur","version":"","volume":"311"},"013e783a1c594679d75ed6dd8a8dd0besylviazur":{"DOI":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcp.2026.114829","ISBN":"","ISSN":"0021-9991","URL":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0021999126001798","abstract":"","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Keim","given":"Jens"},{"family":"Schwarz","given":"Anna"},{"family":"Kopper","given":"Patrick"},{"family":"Blind","given":"Marcel"},{"family":"Rohde","given":"Christian"},{"family":"Beck","given":"Andrea"}],"citation-label":"KEIM2026114829","collection-editor":[],"collection-title":"","container-author":[],"container-title":"J. understanding of the fracture behavior of oxide glasses is rudimentary at best, since the mechanical behavior is hidden behind complex disordered network structures. Here, we are locally decoding these complex networks, extracting scalar and tensor-based predictors, and quantifying how susceptible local regions are to experiencing mechanically induced rearrangements. Presenting the bond length fluctuation tensor, we find that shear transformation zones in network glasses highly correlate with regions of the highest variance in their bond stretch distributions projected into the direction of macroscopic deformation. Exclusively depending on the local geometry of the initial material state, our indicators are physically informative and can be evaluated directly from images with insignificant computational effort.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Bamer","given":"Franz"},{"family":"Wu","given":"Zhao"},{"family":"Shekh data -- information -- knowledge -- wisdom (DIKW)-hierarchy has become a standard framework for examining relationships among data, information, knowledge. This article explores the integration of DIKW with the FAIR and XAIR principles. These principles drive essential transformation processes within the DIKW model: the FAIR principles support the transition from data to information, while XAIR principles enable information to become actionable knowledge. Wisdom is only created particularly through ethical and scientific practices that transcend purely technical considerations. At each level, these transformations reflect distinct epistemic values: FAIR fosters technical knowledge about data, XAIR enables scientific knowledge, and ethics and scientific practices contribute to broader societal knowledge. AI technology plays a dual role, making research machine-readable and interpretable while simultaneously enhancing transformation processes through AI-driven techniques.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Schembera","given":"Björn"}],"citation-label":"10.1007/978-3-031-89274-5_9","collection-editor":[{"family":"Al Machot","given":"Fadi"},{"family":"Horsch","given":"Martin T."},{"family":"Scholze","given":"Sebastian"}],"collection-title":"","container-author":[{"family":"Al Machot","given":"Fadi"},{"family":"Horsch","given":"Martin T."},{"family":"Scholze","given":"Sebastian"}],"container-title":"Designing the Conceptual Landscape for a XAIR Validation Infrastructure","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[{"family":"Al Machot","given":"Fadi"},{"family":"Horsch","given":"Martin T."},{"family":"Scholze","given":"Sebastian"}],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2025"]],"literal":"2025"},"event-place":"Cham","id":"3ecff39f867db785e094b0d08416ce5dbrittalenz","interhash":"367221966a522da95baec91523b1d5ad","intrahash":"3ecff39f867db785e094b0d08416ce5d","issue":"","issued":{"date-parts":[["2025"]],"literal":"2025"},"keyword":"cmcs ians","misc":{"isbn":"978-3-031-89274-5"},"note":"","number":"","number-of-pages":"10","page":"122--132","page-first":"122","publisher":"Springer Nature Switzerland","publisher-place":"Cham","status":"","title":"Data, Information, Knowledge, Wisdom, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence","type":"paper-conference","username":"brittalenz","version":"","volume":""},"03eadec68f4a6f6982b87990b292143cbrittalenz":{"DOI":"","ISBN":"978-3-031-64529-7","ISSN":"","URL":"","abstract":"Modeling-Simulation-Optimization workflows play a fundamental role in applied mathematics. The Mathematical Research Data Initiative, MaRDI, responded to this by developing a FAIR and machine-interpretable template for a comprehensive documentation of such workflows. MaRDMO, a Plugin for the Research Data Management Organiser, enables scientists from diverse fields to document and publish their workflows on the MaRDI Portal seamlessly using the MaRDI template. Central to these workflows are mathematical models. MaRDI addresses them with the MathModDB ontology, offering a structured formal model description. Here, we showcase the interaction between MaRDMO and the MathModDB Knowledge Graph through an algebraic modeling workflow from the Digital Humanities. This demonstration underscores the versatility of both services beyond their original numerical domain.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Reidelbach","given":"Marco"},{"family":"Schembera","given":"Björn"},{"family":"Weber","given":"Marcus"}],"citation-label":"10.1007/978-3-031-64529-7_27","collection-editor":[{"family":"Buzzard","given":"Kevin"},{"family":"Dickenstein","given":"Alicia"},{"family":"Eick","given":"Bettina"},{"family":"Leykin","given":"Anton"},{"family":"Ren","given":"Yue"}],"collection-title":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","container-author":[{"family":"Buzzard","given":"Kevin"},{"family":"Dickenstein","given":"Alicia"},{"family":"Eick","given":"Bettina"},{"family":"Leykin","given":"Anton"},{"family":"Ren","given":"Yue"}],"container-title":"Mathematical Software -- ICMS 2024","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[{"family":"Buzzard","given":"Kevin"},{"family":"Dickenstein","given":"Alicia"},{"family":"Eick","given":"Bettina"},{"family":"Leykin","given":"Anton"},{"family":"Ren","given":"Yue"}],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2024"]],"literal":"2024"},"event-place":"Cham","id":"03eadec68f4a6f6982b87990b292143cbrittalenz","interhash":"ccb26950dad6a4feda21cc4d05256e57","intrahash":"03eadec68f4a6f6982b87990b292143c","issue":"14749","issued":{"date-parts":[["2024"]],"literal":"2024"},"keyword":"cmcs ians","misc":{"isbn":"978-3-031-64529-7"},"note":"","number":"14749","number-of-pages":"8","page":"254--262","page-first":"254","publisher":"Springer Nature Switzerland","publisher-place":"Cham","status":"","title":"Towards a FAIR Documentation of Workflows and Models in Applied Mathematics","type":"paper-conference","username":"brittalenz","version":"","volume":""},"c3e56f9e171551f13fe25af30f39d642brittalenz":{"DOI":"10.3390/en18071811","ISBN":"","ISSN":"1996-1073","URL":"https://www.mdpi.com/1996-1073/18/7/1811","abstract":"In Germany, wind and photovoltaic (PV) systems dominate renewable electricity generation, with large wind turbines contributing 24.1% and PV systems contributing 10.6% in 2022. In contrast, electricity production from small wind turbines remains marginal (<0.01%). While currently only viable in high-wind locations, factors like rising electricity prices, cheaper battery storage, and increasing electrification could boost their future role. Within this work, a residential energy supply system consisting of a small wind turbine, PV system, heat pump, battery storage, and electric vehicle was dimensioned for different sites in Germany and Canada based on detailed simulation models and genetic algorithms in order to analyze the effect of bidirectional charging on optimal system dimensions and economic feasibility. This was carried out for various electricity pricing conditions. The results indicate that, with electricity purchase costs above 0.42 EUR/kWh, combined with a 25% reduction in small wind turbine and battery storage investment expenses, economic viability could be significantly enhanced. This might expand the applicability of small wind power to diverse sites.","annote":"","author":[{"family":"Brennenstuhl","given":"Marcus"},{"family":"Otto","given":"Robert"},{"family":"Pietruschka","given":"Dirk"},{"family":"Schembera","given":"Björn"},{"family":"Eicker","given":"Ursula"}],"citation-label":"en18071811","collection-editor":[],"collection-title":"","container-author":[],"container-title":"Energies","documents":[],"edition":"","editor":[],"event-date":{"date-parts":[["2025"]],"literal":"2025"},"event-place":"","id":"c3e56f9e171551f13fe25af30f39d642brittalenz","interhash":"4fa6812c5c502a963be1deb1d78fe263","intrahash":"c3e56f9e171551f13fe25af30f39d642","issue":"7","issued":{"date-parts":[["2025"]],"literal":"2025"},"keyword":"cmcs ians","misc":{"issn":"1996-1073","article-number":"1811","doi":"10.3390/en18071811"},"note":"","number":"7","page":"","page-first":"","publisher":"","publisher-place":"","status":"","title":"Optimized Dimensioning and Economic Assessment of Decentralized Hybrid Small Wind and Photovoltaic Power Systems for Residential Buildings","type":"article-journal","username":"brittalenz","version":"","volume":"18"}}
