A handy advantage of the integral equationmethod (IEM) is that it does not require a mesh in the airdomain to solve magnetostatic problems. Field values areobtained after the solution variables have been computed ina so-called post-processing step. Unfortunately, this step canbe very time-consuming. In this paper it is shown how thefast multipole method can be used to speed up thiscomputation. This allows for drawing streamlines since thisoften requires a high number of evaluation points.Therefore, an approach to accurate drawing of streamlinesin combination with specially tailored meshes is presented.
