Many diseases including cancer, Parkinson’s disease and heart diseases are caused by loss or malfunction of regulatory mechanism of an oscillatory system. Cure of these diseases might be achieved by recovering the healthy behavior of the oscillators in the system e.g. by achieving synchrony or a desired distribution on the periodic orbit. Control of oscillating cells in medical applications however is diﬃcult. Depending on the experimental setup only some cells can be measured. Furthermore, drugs or other inputs can not be targeted to individual cells. Taking these limitations into account we developed a control feedback which can accomplish any desired distribution such that e.g. healthy behavior is recovered. The proposed method can be used model free and is applicable to almost any oscillating population including cells in the cell cycle, circadian clock, cardiac activity and spiking neurons.
