Phase field modelling for compressible droplet impingement

Abstract

We consider the impingement of a droplet onto a wall with high im-pact speed. For this purpose an isothermal Navier–Stokes–Allen–Cahn model5 is used. Properties of the model are discussed. In order to solve the systemnumerically we introduce an energy consistent discontinuous Galerkin schemeand show a numerical example of droplet impact.
