Extremely long-wavelength charge-transfer absorption of binuclear complexes with azo-modified 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands

Zusammenfassung

[M(CO)4]2L (M = Mo, W; L = 3,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine), [fac-Mn(CO)3Br]2L, [Ru(bpy)2]2L(PF6)4 (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine), [Mo(CO)4]2L1 (L1 = azo-2,2'-dipyridine), and [Ru(bpy)2]2L1(PF6)4 were prepd. The long wavelength charge-transfer absorption max. is obsd. in the near-IR region for all the complexes. [M(CO)4]2L, [Ru(bpy)2]2L(PF6)4, and [Mo(CO)4]2L1 were reduced electrochem. at $\sim$0 V. The complexes were characterized by NMR spectra. [on SciFinder(R)]
