Abstract
The application markets for mobile devices are growing constantly and servefunctionality for different kind of areas including the industrial automationsystems. Mostly, these apps are resided in the area of building automation,SCADA and remote access systems. However, in the area of machine tools andindustrial robots apps for mobile devices are still rare. At ISW an app wasdeveloped that is based on a standardized, non-proprietarily communicationprotocol, OPC UA, and therefore can be used to communicate with all kind ofautomation systems. The modular structure of the app allows to extent the appsfunctionality successively.
