Abstract

Cr2(PhNAc)4, the 1st compd. contg. a M-M quadruple bond bridged by amino groups, was prepd. and its structure detd. by x-ray crystallog. The Cr-Cr distance is 1.873(4) \AA. The much longer Cr-Cr bonds in Cr2(O2CR)4 compds. may be due solely to the presence of axial bonds to the Cr atoms; such bonds are prevented here by the bulky Ph groups. on SciFinder(R)
