Abstract

This paper presents a contact-free current probe, developed to measure typical current profiles which appear in power electronic circuits. For high switching frequencies and steep current slopes the requirement for the dynamic of the current probe is high. This means the current probe needs a wide bandwidth from DC up to several megahertz. This is achieved by the combination of two current measurement principles, Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors and a Rogowski coil.
